Atlanta, GA- The DeFoor Centre is proud to present The Rites of Spring: Four Artists- Four Mediums: Durand Seay - Christina Lorraine - Doug Smith and Britney Compton all come together to display their new works. All new and fresh in time for the new season, of hope and joy. Opening reception will be on Thursday March 19 at 7:30 to 9:30PM and the work will stay up til April 30. The bar and cafe will be serving drinks and appetizers.
The Forum: Durand Seay returns to display in the Forum for new paintings of perspective and movement. Durand precise eye on space brings us the viewer in as if we were walking inside it. Durand has had his work around the Atlanta area, in various galleries and collections. Surrounded by his abstracts as well as his human imagery, one can't make up its mind to claim a favorite. The Gatsby: Britney Compton and Doug Smith will share the space with a mix of photos and sculpture.Britney is an Armstrong Atlantic (AASU) student where she creates her own bustiers. They are quite unique in their own right with ribbons and a woman's "shape" to show how society depicts them. These are "pretty" but they are double sided, to make the viewer think and prevail over them. To view more on Britney: www.myspace.com/premiumvinyl
